Founded in 1953, Queensland Gaskets was established by Quentin Quarterman in a modest worker's cottage on Hope Street, South Brisbane. Quentin identified a growing need for industrial gaskets amidst the post-war industrial boom in South East Queensland, setting up the company with a commitment to quality and customer service that has guided it through seven decades of growth and innovation.
As the business grew, it was Quentin's leadership that steered Queensland Gaskets through its formative years, setting a standard of excellence that would become the company's hallmark. In 1968, following Quentin’s unexpected passing, his son Guy Quarterman assumed leadership. Under Guy’s stewardship, the company not only expanded its product range but also moved to larger facilities to accommodate its growing operations. This era saw Queensland Gaskets solidifying its position in the market, developing new products and diversifying its customers.
The baton was passed to Carl Quarterman in 2012, who brought a fresh perspective and a keen focus on technology and innovation. Carl’s leadership has been marked by significant milestones, such as the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies and strict quality standards, which have positioned Queensland Gaskets at the forefront of the industry. The company has continued to expand its reach, forming strategic partnerships with leading companies and diversifying into new industries such as aerospace and defence.
