Learning through shared perspectives and having a trusted ‘’safe space’’ to workshop challenges are 2 pillars of FBA’s highly successful Forum program. Our Forum Group program helps members become part of a trusted advisory board, leading to improved family business dynamics and personal and professional enrichment.

Forum Group Manager, Olivia Spalding, recently met Oli and his team from Humans of Agriculture (HOA) at a Women in Agriculture event. HOA showcase the true faces, real stories and authentic experiences of those behind our food and fibre system; shifting the stigma around traditional ideas of people in Agriculture. Launched as a passion project, HOA now reaches 41,250+ members and celebrates the real stories of people involved in Aussie agriculture. FBA, like HOA, have read the facts. With many of our members working in and around Agribusiness, the facts point to society and agriculture becoming more disconnected.

Connecting with the HOA community, our CEO, Catherine Sayer, recently recorded the podcast below focusing on the role of family businesses in Australia, her time in and around Agribusiness, the value Family business brings to the nation not just an economic sense, but the greater importance of playing a role in shaping the social fabric of communities.

“We've got a great agriculture sector, a primary production sector, and also a food and beverage manufacturing sector. So, you know, you've got to be proud of being part of an industry that you can't live without” - Catherine

Connecting to a like-minded community is essential, providing critical continuous support over the complex lifespan of a family business. Most participants in our Forum program wish they had taken the step into Forum sooner.
